If you are driving to Toledo stop at the Mirador del Valle rest stop for a fabulous view of the city. It is on the Carretera de Circunvalación, which hugs the rim of the bluffs above the River Tagus. Along that road there is a restaurant where you can grab a drink and some snacks!
TOLEDO CATHEDRAL
It was begun in 1226 under the rule of Ferdinand III and was built on top of a Muslim mosque. This massive church is a magnificinet example of medievil Gothic architecture.

There are plenty of lots but to park for free go to Incurnia street which is located close to the river. There is a zone authorized to park for non Toledo residents. This zone is demarcated by orange lines on the pavement you can park there for unlimited time by using the parking meters pictured above. Do not park where the green lines are as they are reserved for Toledo residents. The price is at about five euros per day and weekends after 2pm is free.
